Are you already a victim of stolen idenity?

You may already be a victim of identity theft if any of the following have happened to you recently:
- you have mislaid or think have had stolen important letters and documents such as a passport or driving licence
- you check your personal credit file and find that there are entries from companies that you do not normally deal with
- you have recently applied for a state benefit but are informed that you have are already claiming that benefit
- you receive bills or invoices for goods and services that you have never ordered
- you discover that a mobile phone (cell phone) contract has been applied for or set up in your name and you have no knowledge of it
- you have received letters from debt collectors or solicitors for outstanding debts that you have no knowledge of
- you notice items on your bank or credit card statement that you have know knowledge of
- you are advised by a financial organisation that you do not normally deal with that you have an outstanding debt
- letters and statements expected from your bank do not arrive or you are receiving no post at all
- you think you have an excellent credit history but are refused an application for a credit card or a loan
