Are you already a victim of stolen idenity?

You may already be a victim of identity theft if any of the following have happened to you recently:

  1. you have mislaid or think have had stolen important letters and documents such as a passport or driving licence
  2. you check your personal credit file and find that there are entries from companies that you do not normally deal with
  3. you have recently applied for a state benefit but are informed that you have are already claiming that benefit
  4. you receive bills or invoices for goods and services that you have never ordered
  5. you discover that a mobile phone (cell phone) contract has been applied for or set up in your name and you have no knowledge of it
  6. you have received letters from debt collectors or solicitors for outstanding debts that you have no knowledge of
  7. you notice items on your bank or credit card statement that you have know knowledge of
  8. you are advised by a financial organisation that you do not normally deal with that you have an outstanding debt
  9. letters and statements expected from your bank do not arrive or you are receiving no post at all
  10. you think you have an excellent credit history but are refused an application for a credit card or a loan
